US Vice President Kamala Harris announced yesterday that she has chosen the Governor of Minnesota, Tim Walz, as her deputy.
But who Tim Walz?
Before becoming governor in 2019, Tim served 12 years in the US House of Representatives.
He is a former high school teacher.
As governor, Walz has become popular among progressive Democrats thanks to some concrete policies he has signed.
Among other things, the state has restored the right to vote for people with criminal records and legalized the recreational use of cannabis. Minnesota also guarantees free breakfast and lunch for school students.
Abortion is also allowed. Everything is signed by him.
Waltz has been open about why reproductive health topics are important to her.
