Leader of the Democratic Party Sali Berisha has stated that Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku, who was taken into custody by SPAK, went from being a nanny to becoming an employee of the Municipality of Tirana.
He emphasized that Balluku is “the owner of 300 apartments, 2 yachts and fabulous sums of money still unaccounted for in her account.” He added that this shows that corruption in Albania is on the scale of African dictatorships of 30 years ago.
“From babysitter to Tirana municipality employee, she is the owner of 300 apartments, 2 yachts, and a fabulous sum of money still unaccounted for in her account.”
“A deputy prime minister or minister who secures 300 apartments with bribes and corruption, who buys 2 yachts and who knows how many other assets, proves that corruption in Albania is on the scale of African dictatorships of 30 years ago,” Berisha said.
