Dr. Mark M. Mellinger is a fellowship-trained orthopedic hand, wrist and elbow surgeon at Northern Arizona Orthopaedics (NAO), delivering exceptional care through the Hand Specialty Center. He completed his fellowship in hand and microsurgery at the University of Florida, his residency and internship at the University of Arizona, and earned both his medical and graduate degrees from the University of Arizona, graduating Magna Cum Laude.
He frequently performs in-office hand surgeries designed to help patients bounce back faster while staying active.
Since joining NAO in 2003, Dr. Mellinger has become known for his mastery of minimally invasive and wide-awake surgical techniques, treating everything from complex fractures, tendon and ligament injuries to nerve and congenital disorders and joint arthritis. He frequently performs in-office hand surgeries designed to help patients bounce back faster while staying active.
“In addition to completing a five-year residency in orthopedic surgery, my fellowship specialized in upper extremity and microsurgery, including minimally invasive techniques focused on the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder,” said Dr. Mellinger.
Driven by innovation and a passion for elevating patient outcomes, Dr. Mellinger is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and proudly serves as team physician for the Colorado Rockies and Pima County SWAT Team. FBN
