Family-owned car wash tops new list of 100 best places to work in 2026 – USA Today

An Indianapolis-based car wash chain topped the list of best places to work in 2026 on the job site Glassdoor, based on employee reviews.
Crew Carwash, a family-owned business with around 55 locations across Indiana and Minnesota, nabbed the top spot on Glassdoor’s “100 Best Places to Work in 2026.” It had ranked second on the list last year.
“Thank you to our amazing team members who make this achievement possible,” the company said in a post on social media.
Glassdoor, in a news release, said the company claimed “the top spot with a 4.6 rating out of 5 with reviews that centered around supportive leadership, career growth, and team culture fueling success.”
Now in their 18th year, Glassdoor’s annual Employees’ Choice Awards honor the Best Places to Work 2026 across the United States and the United Kingdom, according to a news release. The company, which offers employees a platform for “work life conversations and career insights,” said “unlike other workplace awards,” its “Employees’ Choice Awards are based on the input of employees who voluntarily provide anonymous feedback on Glassdoor by completing a company review about their job, work environment and employer over the past year.”
“In today’s competitive job market, Glassdoor’s Best Places to Work award serves as a trusted guide for job seekers, spotlighting the companies where employees thrive while helping candidates connect with workplaces that reflect their values and career ambitions,” Glassdoor president Owen Humphries said in a statement, adding the “standout employers” listed “have shown resilience, sustaining high levels of employee satisfaction and trust as they navigate change” even “amid the uncertainty of 2025.”
The top 10 places to work in 2026, according to Glassdoor, are:
While Crew Carwash emerged as the top contender, several new companies debuted on the 100 Best Places to Work list, including Alaska Airlines at 38, Dutch Bros. Coffee at 75 and Bath & Body Works at 80, “showcasing fresh faces in workplace excellence,” according to Glassdoor.
Meanwhile, the San Francisco Bay Area declined in representation, with only 13 companies on the list compared to 23 in 2025. On the other hand, New York City gained ground with 10 companies, up from six in 2024.
The report added “manufacturing and retail increased representation, while technology, healthcare, and biotech/pharma saw fewer winners year over year.”
Glassdoor’s Best Places to Work in 2026 winners were determined using the company’s “proprietary awards algorithm,” according to the news release.
“Rankings are based on the quantity, quality, and consistency of reviews submitted by U.S.-based employees between Oct. 17, 2024, and Oct. 16, 2025,” Glassdoor said, adding large companies require at least 75 ratings per category.
