Which banks, credit cards and insurers have the best customer service? – USA Today

Managing finances can feel overwhelming, whether you’re new to it or have been working on it for decades, so USA TODAY has partnered with research firm Plant-A Insight Group to find financial services companies offering the best customer service in America.
America’s Best Customer Service in Financial Services 2026” spotlights the top 500 companies across credit unions, banks, life insurers, fintech firms and more. The winners were determined by Plant-A and USA TODAY, who collaborated to analyze more than 57,000 customer responses from September 2025 through October 2025, and whittled down an initial list of 13,000 companies.
The final list is based on customer experiences with financial services companies across seven dimensions of customer satisfaction, including professional competence, customer service, problem solving and friendliness, among other criteria.
Since these relationships should be built to last, the study also examined more than 75,000 company reviews by more than 25,000 customers from previous studies in 2024 and 2023. This helps gauge a company’s commitment to customer service year after year.
Any firms involved in consumer data protection incidents or publicly reported employment-related allegations within the past two years are excluded because customer protection and moral integrity are important, especially in relationships expected to last a lifetime.
