HAZEN, Ark. (KAIT) – Arkansas State Police are searching for two suspects who evaded arrest following a Wednesday morning pursuit on Interstate 40 near Hazen.
According to an ASP news release, troopers attempted to stop a black Hyundai Palisade for a traffic violation around 8:45 a.m. Sept. 17.
Instead of stopping, ASP said the driver “fled at speeds approaching 100 miles per hour while making reckless lane changes.”
When the chase came to an end, ASP said the driver, identified as 24-year-old Brevin Tre Harvey of Saltillo, Mississippi, and a passenger, 30-year-old Marice Quencha Sykes of Tupelo, Miss., ran into a wooded area. They are still at large.
Officers arrested another passenger, 33-year-old Kyle Anthony Easley of Shannon, Miss., and took him to the Prairie County Detention Center.
The news release stated troopers recovered a handgun discarded by one of the suspects, along with 58 pounds of marijuana found inside the vehicle.
Anyone with information about the fugitive suspects’ whereabouts should call ASP Troop D at 870-970-6071 or 911.
