WEST BEND — The West Bend Common Council at Monday’s meeting approved the sale agreement discussed in closed session of the city’s 26% stake in the former University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee at Washington County campus to the county. However, the city also added a few stipulations to the agreement. According to Prust, the agreement is contingent upon the recording of the Certified Survey Map and utility easements. Following the fulfillment of the additional conditions, the city administrator will be able to finalize negotiations with the county at that time.
No details on the sale price or other aspects of the transaction were shared.
Following the next step, the county will look toward finalizing the sale of the property to Ozaukee Christian School. Established in Port Washington in 1990, OCS moved to the Town of Trenton in August 2022, and is now pursuing the purchase of the former UWM-WC campus, which would allow for another expansion of the school so that it can include high school grades. Once the sale is completed, the school will go by a new name, FaithRidge Christian School, beginning on July 1.
This agreement was approved unanimously, including the aforementioned stipulations.
The next meeting of the West Bend Common Council is scheduled to take place on Feb. 16 at 6:30 p.m. at West Bend City Hall, 1115 S. Main St., West Bend.
