“The only way to do great work is to love what you do.” – Steve Jobs
Meaning: Passion and dedication are the foundations of excellence. When you genuinely care about your work, it no longer feels like a burden, and your commitment naturally leads to outstanding results.
Delhi is likely to witness partly cloudy skies with pleasant temperatures on Saturday, 21 March 2026. There is a chance of light rain or drizzle during the night. Light winds from the northwest are expected during the afternoon.
According to the IMD, a powerful 1,000-km “rain band” stretching from Afghanistan to India is influencing weather patterns across the country, bringing a mix of rain, thunderstorms, and hailstorms to various regions. The country is moving from a weak La Niña phase toward ENSO-neutral conditions, which can lead to more variable weather patterns during the March–April transition.
The IMD has advised residents in regions experiencing thunderstorms to stay indoors, avoid shelter under trees, and unplug electronic appliances during lightning.
International Day of Forests (World Forestry Day): March 21 is observed worldwide as the International Day of Forests, a day dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of forests and trees for the survival of humanity and the planet.
Meaning: Forests cover nearly one-third of the Earth’s land mass and provide essential ecosystem services, including clean air, water, biodiversity, and climate regulation. They are vital for sustaining life on Earth.
History: The United Nations General Assembly proclaimed March 21 as the International Day of Forests in 2012. The day encourages countries to organize activities related to forests and trees, such as tree-planting campaigns and educational programs. The first official celebration took place in 2013.
Significance: Forests support biodiversity, combat climate change, and provide livelihoods for millions of people. This day reminds us of the urgent need to protect and sustainably manage forest resources. The theme for 2026 focuses on “Forests and Sustainable Cities,” highlighting the role of urban forests and green spaces in creating healthier, more resilient urban environments.
