Donald Trump's final straw with Marjorie Taylor Greene before unexpected exit – Irish Star

Outgoing Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene was once a die-hard supporter of President Donald Trump and his MAGA movement; however, it now seems the pair have parted ways for good.
According to an insider, the Georgia representative "pushed the president beyond the breaking point" and irrevocibly broke the bond between the two. According to the insider, there is no going back to the way things were.
It was reported that several factors contributed to the split between Greene and President Trump. First off, Greene broke from the Republican line and went against the president and his stance on Gaza, referring to the action of Israel as "genocide" against the Palestinians.
The fracture between the two deepened when Greene repeatedly called for the release of Jeffrey Epstein files, an action that President Trump was initially against. No, the true breaking point for the pair came when Greene questioned Trump's commitment to the MAGA cause.
It was reported that Greene accused President Trump of “abandoning” the MAGA movement, which she saw as a betrayal. Obviously, Trump did not didn’t take kindly to the remarks and allegedly pushed back, calling Greene a “traitor.”
Greene has served as a Representative for Georgia since January 3, 2021. She was sworn into the 117th Congress and was elected to two succeeding Congresses, the 118th and the 119th. She unexpectedly resigned last week, and her service is scheduled to end on January 5, 2026.
The division between the Georgia native and the president first became obvious earlier this month when President Trump labeled Greene a "traitor" in addition to "wacky" and a "ranting lunatic" on his Truth Social app. In a nearly 300-word rant on his Truth Social platform, the 79-year-old U.S. leader accused the vocal conservative who had steadfastly supported him for years of going "far left."
President Trump claimed that Greene "has told many people that she is upset that I don't return her phone calls anymore" before promising "complete and unyielding support" to any conservative primary challenger going into the 2026 midterm elections. Trump also branded Greene as having "gone far left," referencing her recent appearance on The View, and gave her the fresh nickname "Wacky Marjorie."
Shortly after the announcement, Greene shared her four-page resignation letter. "I've always represented the common American man and woman as a member of the House of Representatives, which is why I've always been despised in Washington, DC, and never fit in," she wrote.
"Americans are used by the Political Industrial Complex of both Political Parties, election cycle after election cycle, in order to elect whichever side can convince Americans to hate the other side more," she added. "And the results are always the same."
"No matter which way the political pendulum swings, Republican or Democrat, nothing ever gets better for the common American man or woman," continued Greene. "The debt goes higher. Corporate and global interests remain Washington's sweethearts."
"The average American family can no longer survive on a single breadwinner's income as both parents must work in order to simply survive," she wrote, "And today, many in my children's generation feel hopeless for their future and don't think they will ever realize the American dream, which breaks my heart."
Greene's letter continues citing various reasons why she is leaving. "Until then, I'm going back to the people I love, to live life to the fullest as I always have, and look forward to a new path ahead," the letter finishes."
