Google’s Gemini App Has Surpassed 750M MAUs – WeRSM

Google’s AI push is no longer theoretical. During its Q4 2025 earnings call, Google revealed that the Gemini app now counts over 750 million monthly active users, a sharp jump from 650 million just one quarter earlier.
That kind of acceleration puts Gemini firmly in the top tier of consumer AI products. For context, Meta AI has disclosed close to 500 million monthly users, while ChatGPT is estimated to sit around 810 million MAUs as of late 2025. Gemini is still chasing the leader, but the gap is narrowing fast.
The milestone lands right after the launch of Gemini 3, Google’s most advanced model to date. The company claims the new version delivers a noticeable leap in depth, nuance, and reasoning, and, judging by adoption numbers, users seem to agree.
CEO Sundar Pichai called Gemini 3’s rollout in AI Mode a “positive driver” for growth, positioning it as a cornerstone of Google’s broader product ecosystem rather than a standalone experiment.
“The launch of Gemini 3 was a major milestone, and we have great momentum,” Pichai said.
“The Gemini App has grown to over 750 million monthly active users, and our first-party models now process over 10 billion tokens per minute via direct API use.”
In other words: Gemini isn’t just a consumer chatbot, it’s becoming infrastructure.
Part of Gemini’s momentum comes from Google’s dual-track strategy. The company is leaning hard into both a generous free tier and paid subscriptions.
A new Google AI Plus plan, priced at $7.99/month, was introduced late in the quarter. While it didn’t impact these numbers yet, Google clearly sees it as a lever for the next wave of growth, especially among more price-sensitive users.
As Google’s chief business officer Philipp Schindler put it during the earnings call:
“We are focused on a free tier and subscriptions and seeing great growth.”
Translation: distribution first, monetization second, but both are moving.
What’s most striking isn’t just Gemini’s scale, it’s how quickly AI assistants are becoming everyday utilities. In less than two years, the category has gone from novelty to hundreds of millions of habitual users. Gemini’s 750M MAUs signal more than product success. They point to a shift in how people search, ask, create, and decide, with AI quietly embedded at the center of those behaviors.
