Samsung Electronics plans to develop a robot vacuum ecosystem to compete with Chinese brands that dominate South Korea's robot vacuum market such as Roborock and Ecovacs.
Lim Seong-taek, Executive Vice President of Samsung Electronics, spoke at a media event where he stated that the company’s product centric approach to business is being replaced by a system centric approach that combines hardware, software and services.
Samsung announced its second generation robotic vacuum (Bespoke AI Steam) which features AI based ability to recognize space, detect liquids and has an EasyPass wheel which allows the vacuum to cross small thresholds.
The robot vacuum’s introduction is part of Samsung’s broader vision of “Companion to AI Living” and its SmartThings platform, which had over 430 million users worldwide as of December 2025.
Samsung’s strategy is that it wishes to be in the high end of the market, avoiding pricing competition with mass market competitors. Additionally, the price of Samsung’s new model has yet to be disclosed while the current price of the Bespoke Jet Bot Combo is $1,699.

Through its system centric approach, Samsung will continue to focus on technological differentiation through AI based cleaning, enhanced security and integration within the connected home.
A key part of Samsung's ecosystem is its security features which use end-to-end encryption ensuring that images and video are stored only on the robotic vacuum or its SmartThings Cloud account.
