Microwave Peanut Brittle
1/2 cup Karo syrup
1/2 cup water
1 cup sugar
Cook 3 minutes. Add:
1 1/2 cup peanuts, cook 4 minutes
1 tablespoon butter — 6 minutes (to 310 degrees)
1/2 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon baking soda
Stir, pour on buttered foil.

Nana’s Cabbage and Ground Beef Soup
Small head cabbage chopped
Small chopped onion
32 ounces beef broth
Boil cabbage and onions. Add 1 large jar or can of traditional pasta sauce, 1 pound browned, drained ground beef, salt, pepper, and one packet spaghetti seasoning
(1 can petite diced tomatoes optional).
Bring to a boil. Ready when cabbage is tender.

Nana’s Cherry Smash Candy
Small jar of maraschino cherries well drained
2 cups powdered sugar
2 tablespoons softened butter
Half teaspoon vanilla
Pinch of salt
Smash together with a pastry blender. Roll in 1-inch balls. Freeze for 30 minutes. Dip in melted semisweet chocolate.

Nana’s Collard Green Soup
Sauté sausage and onions. Add 2 cups chicken broth, can of Rotel, can of seasoned collards or greens of choice, can of purple hull peas, can of northern beans. Simmer for 15-20 minutes or leave in crock pot.

Nana’s Spaghetti Sauce
1 pound ground beef browned with 1 large yellow onion chopped
Drain grease. Add 1 can beef broth, small can tomato paste, 1 package spaghetti seasoning of your choice, 1 tablespoon sugar, 1 20-ounce jar spaghetti or pasta sauce. Taste for seasoning. Simmer at least 15 minutes or in crock pot.

Butter Cookies
Duncan Hines Butter Recipe Golden Cake Mix
1 stick partially melted butter
1 egg
1 tablespoon water
Pinch salt
Mix well. Bake 1-inch balls at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes.

Grape Salad
2 pounds white seedless grapes
8 ounces cream cheese
1 cup sugar
8 ounces Cool Whip
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/4 cup brown sugar for garnish
Combine sugar and cream cheese well. Fold in Cool Whip. Wash and dry grapes. Mix the fruit dip, grapes and most of the pecans in a large bowl. Sprinkle brown sugar and remaining pecans on top. Refrigerate until served.

1 can Double Q salmon, remove dark skin and bones
2 eggs
1/2 cup White Lily Self-Rising Flour
Salt and pepper to taste
Mix well. Fry in oil of your choice.

Mix. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 minutes.

Peanut Butter Frosting:
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup softened butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
2-3 cups powdered sugar
Pinch salt
2-3 tablespoons milk or cream
Whip all ingredients minus 1 cup sugar. Add sugar if needed.
