
NAUGATUCK, Conn. (WFSB) – The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection is investigating a large amount of dead fish at a pond in Naugatuck, according to the fire department.
Crews said the dead fish were found at Baummer’s Pond on Mill Street Friday afternoon.
“Numerous dead fish were found along the edge of the pond,” said the Naugatuck Fire Department.
Officials confirmed there was no visible oil spill or any other substances nearby.
The fire department said the geese and ducks in the pond did not appear to be affected.
The fisheries division of DEEP is sending a biologist to the pond for further investigation.
