As Vermont’s construction season ramps up, the Associated General Contractors of Vermont, is recognizing Work Zone Awareness Week and its annual Workers Memorial observance in Montpelier. AGC Vermont’s message: Slow down, stay alert, respect the work zone. Obey posted speed limits. Eliminate distractions, including mobile devices. Expect changing traffic patterns. Follow directions from flaggers and workers.
MORRISVILLE — Copley Hospital announced its laboratory has again earned accreditation from the College of American Pathologists. This distinction affirms the laboratory’s standards of quality, precision, and patient safety. By maintaining CAP standards, Copley Hospital ensures local patients receive diagnostic accuracy on par with the leading medical institutions worldwide.
This year’s accreditation was significant as the department recently implemented major technological upgrades. The laboratory integrated the new QuidelOrtho Vistros XT7600 analyzer and an integrated track system, designed to enhance both the speed and precision of testing. Last year, the laboratory performed nearly 185,000 tests, an increase of nearly 35,000 over the previous year. Copley’s laboratory services include blood bank, chemistry and hematology, immunology, microbiology, and pathology.
BURLINGTON — Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC announced Attorney Robin Rodriguez has joined the firm’s litigation team as an associate. Rodriguez has extensive experience in commercial litigation and arbitration, immigration law and criminal matters. A native English speaker fluent in French and proficient in Spanish, she will work out of DRM’s Burlington office.
RANDOLPH — Gifford Health Care welcomes Dr. Ellen Stein, an emergency medicine physician with experience in rural emergency care, EMS leadership and wilderness medicine.
Most recently, Stein served as an emergency medicine physician with University of Vermont Health, working in emergency departments at Central Vermont Medical Center, Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital, and UVM Medical Center. She previously served as medical director for Vermont EMS District 6 and has experience training and supporting paramedics and EMS providers. Dr. Stein also brings expertise in wilderness medicine, having served as a physician with the Himalayan Rescue Association at Everest Base Camp and along the Annapurna Circuit in Nepal.

Ciccone brings more than 25 years of clinical experience across emergency medicine, primary care, and leadership roles. He has served as an emergency medical director, chief medical officer and consultant across multiple health care organizations while maintaining an active clinical practice. He has also been affiliated with academic medicine for more than two decades.
KeyBank has named Leonid Batsevitsky commercial leader for the Boston and Vermont markets, as well as president of KeyBank’s Boston Market. He will be based in KeyBank’s Boston office.
Prior to joining KeyBank, Batsevitsky spent nearly a decade at TD Bank, where he served as a senior relationship manager in the middle market group. He has also worked at Roseview Capital Partners, Grant Thornton Corporate Finance, Capstone Partners, G2 Capital Advisors, and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Through May 30, customers at any Kinney Drugs location across Vermont and upstate New York can donate to the Children’s Miracle Network at the register, and every dollar raised will stay local, going directly to the children’s hospital that serves this community. The campaign benefits four Children’s Miracle Network-affiliated hospitals across the region, funding pediatric care for local families. That includes Golisano Children’s Hospital at UVM Health in Burlington; and in New York at Wynn Hospital in Utica, Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital in Syracuse, and Samaritan Hospital in Watertown.

RUTLAND — M&T Charitable Foundation awarded 350 VT a grant to be used for the Bicycle Exchange Program centered in the 350 Rutland County Node. Every year, 350 Rutland County Node members collect and refurbish up to 30 gently used bicycles, which are then distributed to anyone in need of transportation within the county. Anyone in need of bicycle transportation should email rutland@350vt.org or call 802-683-1614.
From now through May 3, local McDonald’s owner/operators across New England are inviting customers to its “Give a Little Love” campaign. Vermont customers can purchase a $1, $3 or $5 heart in-restaurant, with 100% of proceeds going directly to the local Ronald McDonald House in Burlington, a place to stay for families with seriously ill or injured children receiving medical care at local hospitals.
The City of Montpelier Manager Kelly McNicholas Kury announced Heather Graves will become Montpelier’s new director of finance, filling the position previously held by Sarah LaCroix. Graves has served as acting finance director for the City of Montpelier since LaCroix announced her departure in December 2025.
Graves has a BS in Accounting from Suffolk University. She is currently the city’s senior accountant and has served in this role since 2019. She joined the city as a staff accountant in 2017.
WILLISTON — Vermont Soccer Association and NBT Bank announced NBT Bank will serve as the Official Banking Partner of the Vermont Soccer Association to support opportunity, financial well-being, and active lifestyles for players, coaches, referees and families throughout the state.
NBT Bank will support VSA initiatives, including becoming the presenting partner at the Spring Vermont Soccer Festival, supporting TOPSoccer, statewide programming, educational resources for players and families, and outreach efforts designed to make soccer more accessible and inclusive.
JEFFERSONVILLE — The Vermont Covered Bridge Society (VCBS) announced a new partnership with as its newest corporate sponsor. The $400 sponsorship from NEK Broadband will directly support the Vermont Covered Bridge Society’s Spring General Membership Meeting.
Open to all VCBS members and the public, the upcoming meeting will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 6, at the Lunenburg Congregational Meeting House at the Top of the Common, 47 Park Ave., Lunenburg. Lunch will be served, with an RSVP. Also, for donations to a silent auction, contact the VCBS.

WILLISTON — Professional Financial Associates announced the addition of Aliza Ogden to the team as director of operations. Ogden spent several years at Unsworth LaPlante, PLLC, as both an organizational development specialist and paralegal, managing complex estate planning, Medicaid and trust administration cases.

Tractor Supply is hosting a “try before you buy” event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Saturday, April 25 and 26, at all of its Vermont locations. Customers are invited to demo heavy-duty mowers by test-driving them through a custom TSC obstacle course. As sellers of zero-turn riding mowers, Tractor Supply stores feature an extensive lineup from brands including Bad Boy, Cub Cadet, Toro and Husqvarna. In addition to deals and financing options, customers who test drive a mower will also receive a free Tractor Supply hat while supplies last.
Vermont State University’s Associate of Science in Respiratory Therapy program has received the President’s Award for Excellence in Credentialing Success from the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care “recognizing outstanding student outcomes, including a 100% job placement rate.” This recognition comes in partnership with UVM Health to meet employer needs, student demand, and the growing need for respiratory care in Vermont. VTSU provides the education and training, while the health network financially supports both the program and the students pursuing the associate degree and provides job placement to program graduates.
RANDOLPH — The White River Craft Center invites the community to celebrate its 25 years at an anniversary event Saturday, June 13. The day will feature an open house from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with studio tours, artist demonstrations, hands-on activities, and opportunities to connect with the artists and people who shape the Craft Center today. A community picnic lunch, a collaborative art project, and family-friendly activities will be offered throughout the day.
Activities will take place across the full campus, including the Kimball House on Randolph Avenue and the Woodshop on Weston Street.
In the evening, the celebration continues with a ticketed fundraiser from 6 to 9 p.m. featuring live music and light fare on the front lawn of the Kimball House. Opportunities to contribute artwork for the 25-year exhibition and a fall 2026 silent auction, supporting the Craft Center’s Community Fund, are also available.
