Chiefs HC Andy Reid picks up suit ahead of Swift-Kelce wedding day – USA Today

Andy Reid is suiting up – for a wedding.
The Kansas City Chiefs head coach known for sporting his team-branded gear and Hawaiian shirts is going for a more formal look ahead of the much-anticipated wedding between Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift. Reid officially picked up his suit on June 25, according to an Instagram story shared via People Magazine from Kansas City-based Peters Clothiers.
“Thank you, Coach Reid! 🏈,” the business said in the post.
The news comes nearly two weeks after an initial post from the company that showed Reid, general manager Brett Veach and head athletic trainer Rick Burkholder all being fitted for the formalwear.
In May, Reid joked during an appearance on “The Stephen A. Smith Show” that he changed his diet and should be able to fit into the tuxedo.
“Well, listen, I’ve cut back on the cheeseburgers a bit now that I’m older so I can get in the tuxedo,” Reid said. “There’s a chance I’ll be there.”
Given the images that have surfaced, it seems safe to say that Reid will be in attendance.
While most of the focus remains on the big event, there is also business to be taken care of on the field. Kelce signed a three-year extension with the Chiefs this offseason, putting the retirement rumors to rest for another season. It came on the heels of what was arguably his worst season in the league, but Reid noted at a June 11 press conference that Kelce has continued to put in the work.
“Can’t talk about it,” Reid said, joking about the wedding. “Can’t talk about it. Listen, [Travis Kelce] been here most of the offseason, if not the whole one. He’s been around, and it’s good to have him here. He did the mandatory camp and did a nice job there, so it’s good to have him back in and rolling.
“He’s very excited. You see no distractions with that and the wedding. If it’s like when I got married, my wife did everything, so I just kind of followed her lead on it and showed up, right? Maybe he’s doing more but he looks like he’s pretty focused in on this job here, too.”
An official wedding date for the tight end and pop star remains unconfirmed, but the timing of Reid’s pickup seems to suggest it is close. Fans initially expected the date to be June 13 in Rhode Island, an idea that was later debunked. The current assumption is that the wedding is set for July 3 at Madison Square Garden.
One way or another, the couple is running out of time if they want to tie the knot before veterans report to Chiefs’ training camp on July 28.
