Some big moves are in the offing as Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham all work to bolster their respective squads ahead of the new Premier League season. Arsenal made a huge splash on Saturday as it was revealed they are interested in a move for Real Madrid’s Vinicius Jr, who is entering the final 12 months of his contract and could look to leave the Bernabeau this summer.
They have also confirmed the signing of Christos Tzolis and are set to make a £70million bid for Bruno Guimaraes after agreeing personal terms with the Newcastle captain. Defenders Ezri Konsa, John Stones and Jacobo Ramon are of interest too, amid ongoing links to the likes of Julian Alvarez, Bradley Barcola and Marcus Rashford. Man United have been boosted in their pursuit of Aurelien Tchouameni, with Real Madrid team-mate Eduardo Camavinga also on their midfield radar alongside Carlos Baleba, Manu Kone, Sander Berge, Danilo and Tyler Adams.
Chelsea want to land Kerim Alajbegovic and Alex Scott after welcoming Morgan Rogers,while Maxence Lacroix underwent a medical on Friday with a £52m switch from Crystal Palace agreed. Tottenham are eyeing Andreas Schjelderup and Rafael Leao as Cristian Romero prepares to exit, while Liverpool have moved for Maghnes Akliouche as they also target Barcola and Rayan. Brentford have made an opening bid for West Ham United left-back El Hadji Malick Diouf, Foot Mercato reports.
The Championship club are not expected to be alone, with more teams preparing to enter the race for the Senegal international. Diouf joined West Ham from Slavia Prague last summer in a deal worth up to €25million after becoming the Czech league’s record sale.
Manchester United are ready to bid for Ollie Watkins if Joshua Zirkzee leaves Old Trafford this summer, The Sun claims. The England striker has emerged as a leading target as Manchester United prepare for a possible change in attack. Aston Villa are willing to consider offers in the region of £40million for Watkins.
Ekrem Konur believes that Galatasaray have identified Charles De Ketelaere as an alternative target in their search for a new No.10. Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes remains the Turkish club’s top priority. Atalanta are reluctant to sell, with Maurizio Sarri viewing De Ketelaere as a key player, while any talks would only begin from €50million.
Sky Germany reports RB Leipzig remain interested in Said El Mala but have yet to submit a formal offer. Borussia Dortmund are still leading the race for the youngster, while Leipzig continue to monitor the situation. RB Leipzig are also waiting to see whether any movement involving Yan Diomande could change their plans, with the transfer fee remaining a key factor.
Besiktas have stepped up talks to sign Darwin Nunez from Al Hilal, Ekrem Konur claims. The Turkish club have offered €4million to take the Uruguay striker on loan. Nunez wants to stay in Europe and is positive about Besiktas’ project, while Barcelona and Atlanta United are also monitoring his situation.
Reports in Italy claim that Al Hilal have identified Bayern Munich winger Luis Diaz as their dream target. The Saudi Pro League club are planning another marquee attacking signing after completing the Crysencio Summerville deal.
Teamtalk claims that Arsenal will turn their attention to Alex Scott if they fail to sign Newcastle United captain Bruno Guimaraes. The Bournemouth midfielder has already attracted a £64million bid from Chelsea, while Arsenal have identified him as their main alternative. Bournemouth remain unwilling to sell Scott despite his contract running down and his decision not to sign a new deal.
Real Madrid could loan out Endrick again as they look to create space in attack for another marquee signing, ESPN reports. Jose Mourinho will assess both Endrick and Gonzalo Garcia during pre-season before deciding which forward leaves on loan. Endrick wants to stay and fight for his place, while Real are expected to prioritise departures before making more signings.
Bournemouth are closing in on the signing of Benfica defender Antonio Silva. A draft agreement is already in place, with negotiations entering the final stages. The deal is expected to be worth around €25million after Bournemouth moved closer to Benfica’s €30m valuation.
Liverpool have been dealt a major blow in their pursuit of Yan Diomande.
The Ivorian winger has opted to join a different club, with the 19-year-old the subject of intense transfer interest from a number of Europe’s leading clubs this summer.
The RB Leipzig forward has been courted by the Reds, Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Manchester City among other sides in this transfer window, but now, it appears that his final destination has been revealed.
