New seafood fête coming to Shelter Island’s Pridwin

The Pridwin Hotel & Cottages is launching its first annual on , from Sept. 4-7.
Alongside the waterfront, the festival will feature freshly shucked , chilled as the sun sets, and a family-style seafood feast celebrating the bounty of the sea.
First opened in 1927 and now a property, the Pridwin is nestled amid about 10 acres. The resort now comprises 33 rooms and 16 cottages and includes a pool, private beach, spa amenities, court sports and more.

To help get the seaside festivities started, Saturday includes a “Toast to Summer: Champagne & Oysters on the Bay.” In addition to the oysters, the mix includes a raw bar, seasonal seafood and live music.
Sunday is the actual fête, and is planning a “seafood forward” take on The Pridwin’s Wednesday night weekly barbecue. Here, offerings include oysters, grilled lobster, seasonal fish and other coastal fare, family-style sides and live music along with .
The hotel is offering a VIP package for those planning to make a weekend of the festivities as they mark the unofficial end of summer.
