The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) announced that Hong Kong welcomed 4.35 million visitors in March this year, representing a 14% increase from the same period last year.
Among them, non-Chinese Mainland visitors accounted for 27%. The share of international visitors was also higher than before, which was driven by the strong line-up of world-class art and cultural events.
In 1Q26, Hong Kong recorded a cumulative total of 14.31 million visitors, representing a 17% YoY increase. Of these, Chinese Mainland visitors accounted for 11.08 million, up 20% YoY, mainly benefiting from the compounding effect of a string of mega events held in Hong Kong over the past few months, together with a series of promotional campaigns targeting the Chinese Mainland's extended Lunar New Year holiday.
