A Madras couple followed a classic car through town out of curiosity, which led them to a car show they didn’t know about and an award.
Susan and Atilla Kovari discovered the All Triumph Drive In organically after following a Triumph TR3 to the Bunkhouse Hotel in Madras and joining the attendees. Those who came to the event were from throughout the U.S. and Canada.
Roughly 100 cars were at the event hosted at the Erickson Air Museum. The Kovaris, who own a Triumph TR3, decided to enter their vehicle and won third place.
“The cars brought everyone together, but the people made the event special. We didn’t realize how much camaraderie existed among Triumph owners,” Kovari said. “TRA President Bruce Clough’s words, ‘Our cars were meant to drive, we drive them, and glad to see you do too,’ perfectly summed up what we experienced. The friendships, stories, and connections we made were every bit as memorable as the cars themselves.”
The drive-in event gathers people who are owners of Triumph automobiles and people interested in the vehicles. The Triumph Register of America puts on the event. Their website said the organization focuses on Triumph vehicles, specifically “quintessential classic” models TR2 through TR4A.
