ExxonMobil closes UK plant blaming 'policy' obstacles – The Economic Times


ExxonMobil is closing its Fife Ethylene Plant in Scotland in February 2026, citing difficult economic and policy conditions in Britain. The closure will affect approximately 179 employees and 250 contractors, with some jobs potentially relocating to England. The company stated the plant has been loss-making for five years and requires significant investment to become profitable.
